Vlaze 2 v2

Heatshields

We might need to install a heatshield on the wall behind the stove. This will depend on stove choice (there are some stoves now which have very low DTCs (Distances to Combustibles) requirements and won’t require a heatshield behind them), and what the wall is made of, or if it is covered in plasterboard for instance.

Heatshields can be of any non-combustible material, stone, porcelain, vlaze and steel (which can be powder-coated virtually any colour you prefer) are popular options - but they must all incorporate a 25mm ventilation space between the back of the heatshield and the wall.
